Moving into winter 22/23 dealing with COVID-19 and snow closures

In the winter the Glenwood Springs Gun Club is subject to closure because of snow
Current members may check out a key for 48 hours at the Glenwood Springs Community Center. Check at the desk to find out the latest snow conditions.

Depending on snow conditions, the 12 round sporting clays course is also open on Saturday Mornings as 10 AM. Please be there at 9:30 for squad assignments. Check with Jim Neil  (970) 379-0646 to see if it is open.

The gun club has recommends  the current COVID-19 operating protocol:

Glenwood Springs Gun Club COVID-19 Protocol

  • Please Respect and Abide by ALL City, County and State Orders Regarding the COVID-19 Pandemic
  • At this time will request all members and guests to avoid entering the South Canyon gun range if you have a cough or fever
  • If You’ve Been Around anyone Who has, or had, symptoms for the last 2 weeks, please STAY HOME
  • Sneeze and Cough into a Tissue, if Not Available, into One’s Elbow
  • Do Not Shake Hands or Engage in ANY Unnecessary Physical Contact
  • Please NO Elbow Bumps, especially if You Just Sneezed in Your Elbow
  • Maintain a Minimum Six-Foot Distance from One Another
  • Please Keep a Face Mask with You, readily Available at All Times
  • Use Your Face Mask When Unable to Socially Distance
  • Squad in Groups of 5 or Fewer, including observers.
  • Purchase Punch Cards to Minimize Handling of Money/Payment
  • DO NOT Socialize or Congregate in the Parking Lot or on the Course
  • Please Wear Gloves or use hand sanitizer while operating controllers
  • Please Provide Your Own Gloves and Face Masks
  • If any members have a surplus of hand sanitizer or disinfectant wipes they’d be willing to donate to the club that would be greatly appreciated.
  • All State and CDC Covid-19 guidelines must be recognized. If we want to have a club to shoot at we are going to have to work together to get through this!

South Canyon Range has Re-opened!

We weren’t closed because of the snow as you may know and we are hoping for a LOT of snow for the 2018/19 winter.

Still Closed Because of Fire Danger

This is the way it was at the South Canyon Range back in 2002 after the Coal Seam Fire.  We don’t want relive that! We will let you know as soon as the situation changes and we can reopen.
